With the blessings of the legendary living yogi, SriM, the dream of advanced secondary health care for all is set to become an affordable reality in the form of Swaasthya, a 150-bed hospital that will come up soon on Kanakpura Road in Bangalore.
The foundation stone of the hospital wedded to the ideal of affordable health and emergency services, was laid on March 9 by the yogi himself, famous for his 7500-km Kanya Kumari to Kashmir ‘walk of hope’.
Speaking on the occasion Sri M, emphasized the concept of ‘Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhawantu’–a movement for the well-being of the universe with local roots. He said “This is the foundation for providing holistic health and to purify hearts.”
Said the former Chief Justice of India MN Venkatachala: “It is a laudable initiative to uplift rural health and to provide health in totality, something only Sri M could have done.”
PGR Scindia, Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts & Guides, Karnataka, who presided over the function hailed the step as a noble initiative as there are no such facilities, particularly on Kanakapura Road.
A major part of the Hospital’s services will be driven by charity with a focus on providing sustainable services.
The project is being spearheaded by Dr NK Venkataramana, Founder & Chief Neurosurgeon, Brains Neuro Spine Centre with the divine blessings of Sri M. Dr Venkataramana said “Apart from routine and emergency healthcare the emphasis will be on prevention, health education and holistic health that involves yoga, meditation and spiritual health. A Golden Hour Centre will function at the hospital premises to take care of emergencies on the highway.”
The function was graced by several prominent leaders and dignitaries
