Golden Hour gets BLISS on board KSRTC

Your ride on a KSRTC bus is about to get even safer. In an exemplary move, the leading government-run bus operator has tied up with Golden Hour to empower its drivers and conductors with essential life-saving skills. Under the arrangement, Golden Hour will train thousands of KSRTC staff who man its large fleet of inter-state buses on its Basic Life Support System (BLISS) programme, designed by critical care specialists in line with best global standards.

Unprecedented for any state transport company, this path-breaking initiative, meant to enhance the safety and quality standards of long-distance travel, was led by the former and present state transport ministers, Mr Ramalinga Reddy and Mr H. Revanna and the Managing Director of KSRTC Mr Uma Shankar.

Golden Hour, a not-for-profit social arm of the Brains Hospital, is committed to preventing avoidable deaths from medical emergencies by providing the right life-saving care at the right time, that is within an hour of a medical emergency. The right care within this golden hour cab prevent 30% of on-the-spot and 80 % of delayed deaths.

The brainchild of Internationally acclaimed neurosurgeon and the founder of Brains Hospital in Bangalore, Dr N K Venkataramana, Golden Hour has entered into a similar arrangement with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation for its drivers.
