Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a unit within the Hospital, which is equipped with special equipment and specially trained Medical personnel to provide the safe care of seriously ill patients, requiring immediate and continuous medical attention (Intensive Care); It is also called as Critical Care Unit. ICU provides holistic medical therapy to the critically ill patients with various disease processes, associated with the involvement of single organ or multi-organ failure which is beyond the scope of managing in the normal ward.

ICU manages a bunch of critically sick patients with single or multi-organ failure like, Acute exacerbation of Bronchial Asthma, Acute exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Chest infection including Pneumonia, Sepsis with Septicaemia shock; Acute or acute on chronic renal failure, who require Haemodialysis and intensive monitoring, which is beyond the scope of managing in the standard Dialysis Unit.

BRAINS Super Speciality Hospital Medical ICU is a 10 bedded highly equipped ICU, staffed by highly trained Intensivists with the availability of ICU Doctors, 24 X 7 and highly trained ICU Nurses, along with the doctors of other supportive Super Specialities, including, Physicians, a team of Neurologists; Cardiologist, Pulmonologist(Specialist for Chest and Lungs diseases); Nephrologist (Specialist to manage Renal dysfunction).
